The Lineup

Six Australian blues and roots acts will take the stage across the evening, moving from stripped-back acoustic sets and traditional blues through to New Orleans sounds, Chicago boogie and full-band blues-rock.

Lloyd Spiegel Trio

Fourteen-time Australian Blues Award winner Lloyd Spiegel is joined by Lisa Baird on trombone and vocals and Tim Burnham on drums. Expect exceptional guitar playing, powerful vocals, sharp storytelling and a high-energy sound that reaches well beyond traditional blues.

Catfish Voodoo

Returning to the stage especially for Barrels, Bottlenecks & Blues, Catfish Voodoo bring low-down Chicago blues, harmonica, bottleneck guitar and plenty of boogie. Melbourne bassist Pete Bulke joins the band for this special New Year’s Eve performance.

White Lightning

White Lightning are a hard-hitting two-piece built around guitar, harmonica, drums and slide. Their raw sound blends Mississippi Hill Country blues with stripped-back blues-rock, heavy grooves and plenty of punch.

Lily & King

Lily & King mix blues, jazz, New Orleans sounds and old-time roots music with trombone, guitar, banjo, percussion and more. Their lively, playful performances bring colour, character and a strong sense of fun to the stage.

Julian James & Beci Kate

Americana, Hill Country blues, slide guitar, harmonica and close harmony come together in the road-tested sound of Julian James and Beci Kate. Their set combines original music with deep blues and roots influences shaped by years of touring throughout Australia and overseas.

Jarrod Shaw

Country Victorian bluesman Jarrod Shaw delivers a stripped-back solo set featuring fingerpicked guitar, harmonica and influences drawn from Piedmont and Delta blues. With just guitar, voice and groove, he creates a sound far bigger than the sum of its parts.
